** Excludes "Data Backup" and "Data Recovery" which are quoted separately. For "Data Backup" to be possible, the computer hard drive must be in good working condition with a healthy file system. If this is not possible then "Data Recovery" is applicable.
Data Backup
If you don't have a backup of your important data or would like peace of mind that your data is safe, then why not use out Data Backup service. Before we carry out a repair, we will take a complete image of your hard drive and store it on our RAID 5 Backup Server. In the unlikely event that something does go wrong, this image can then be used to recover data. The image is kept for up to 14 days from the date it is created.

Please note - Data Backup will delay turnaround times. Backup times will depend on current work load, amount of data to backup and the speed of the media which requires backing up.
Data Backup cannot be done onsite.

We offer Data Recovery services for file structure damage, lost/deleted files and virus corrupted files.

Once your data has been recovered you can decide how you want your data to be handed to you. Whether it's onto a CD/DVD, External Hard Drive, USB Memory Stick or a New Computer. This will largely be determined by how much data there is being recovered.

Diagnostic Fees & Estimates
Bristol Computer Repair can provide an estimate before a repair is carried out.
In order to provide this estimate, we need to spend time diagnosing the problem.
Our diagnostic fee is 1 hours labour (see table above).
If requested, we can include an engineer's report for insurance claims (An additional £10).
If you decide to go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee will be waivered.
Warranty
All completed computer repairs are covered by a 30-day labour only warranty, commencing from the date on the original invoice.
If the original problem occurs within 30 days, the technician will come back and fix it free of charge.
Excludes computer faults caused by software, virus and end user errors.
All brand new hardware supplied by Bristol Computer Repair comes with 1 years manufacturer's warranty.
All hardware supplied by Bristol Computer Repair is brand new, unless specified on the invoice or requested by the customer.
All LCD Screen Replacements come with a 90 day warranty - this is a standard warranty issued by most screen suppliers/manufacturers.
VAT
Bristol Computer Repair are a small business and we do not charge VAT.
This saves home offices and other small businesses 20%.
Payment
Computer repairs are charged by the hour.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or debit/credit card.
Credit/debit card payments are made via our secure Paypal Checkout gateway and are subject to a 3.5% surcharge.
Payment for the first 1/2 hour of "Remote Desktop Support" is required upfront.
Payment for Onsite, Offsite and Remote computer repairs are to be made once a repair is completed.
Delinquent bills will be assessed a 15% charge if payment is not received within 7 days of the invoice issue date.
If an amount remains delinquent 30 days after its issue date, an additional 15% penalty will be added for each month of delinquency.

No-Fix/Diagnosis-No-Fee
Bristol Computer Repair offer a "no-fix/diagnosis-no-fee" policy on all computer repairs.
If a problem cannot be fixed or diagnosed, you won't be charged.
If replacement parts can no longer be obtained or the parts are no longer manufactured, a diagnostic fee will be charged.
If the customer decides not to go ahead with a repair once a diagnosis/quote has been made, a diagnostic fee will be charged.

Turnaround Times
We aim to deliver any goods within 7 days; however, deliveries may be subject to conditions outside of our control.
All delivery times are approximate and we will not be held liable for any compensation or damages as a result of late or non-delivery.
Insurance
Our technicians hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance, for both residential and business premises (excludes data loss - it is the customer's responsibility to backup important data).

Customer Data Policies
Data stored on the computer is the customer's responsibility.
Customer accepts full responsibility for Customer software and data.
Where possible, it is recommended that the customer takes a backup of their data prior to any work being carried out.
SMG Computers does not accept any liability for data or software which is lost, corrupted, deleted oraltered during repair.




Bristol Computer Repair provide an excellent and value-for-money service. The receipt/invoice itemises the work done, so there are no grey areas. I would recommend them to anyone.
